At the online International Conference on “Re-Envisioning Agility, Sustainability, and Technological Innovation in Manufacturing and Service Industry (RASTMSI 2024)” organized by Vedatya Institute and the Journal of Services Research on February 8th and 9th, 2024, the Department of Management and Commerce showcased remarkable research prowess.

Mrs. Akanksha Aggarwal and Ms. Prajoyli Sharma’s paper, “The ‘What’, ‘Why’ And ‘How’ Of Sustainable Fashion Apparel Consumption: A Systematic Literature Review Using TCCM Framework,” emerged victorious among over 50 submissions, earning them the esteemed ‘Best Paper Award.’

The team also presented other impactful papers:

• “Antecedents, Decisions & Consequences of Sustainable Luxury Consumer Behaviour: A Systematic Literature Review & Future Research Agenda” by Ms. Alekya and Mrs. Akanksha Aggarwal
• “The 5w1h Framework of Consumption of Plant-Based Meat: A Systematic Literature Review” by Mrs. Akanksha Aggarwal and Ms. Aksha Bajpai.

On March 9th, 2024, the enchanting tunes of classical fusion filled the air at the Atal Incubation Center, of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. With the blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, students and teachers from the Department of Music, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, presented a mesmerizing musical journey from 7 to 8 pm.

The occasion marked the 5th Startup Jathara of AIC, SK University, Anantapuramu, and commenced with a classical fusion, a harmonious blend of Carnatic and Hindustani Vocal music. Rooted in Raag Hamsasdhwani, known as the ‘Sound of Swans’, the melodies imbued the audience with positivity and a sense of serenity. Featured songs included ‘Vaataapi Ganpatim Bhaje’ and ‘Laagi Lagan’, seamlessly weaving Northern and Southern musical traditions, epitomizing India’s rich cultural tapestry.

Following the soul-stirring melodies, a captivating ‘Tani Avartanam’, a duet of Mridangam and Tabla, showcased the intricate synergy between these percussive instruments, fostering innovation and creativity.

The program continued with a patriotic composition by Sri Indrakanti Srikanth Sharma, resonating with devotion towards the Motherland. As the celebration of Mahashivaratri lingered in the air, the melodious Sai Bhajan ‘Dhimita Dhimita Dhim’ invoked blessings of Lord Sai Shiva, accompanied by rhythmic beats of Mridangam and Tabla.

The rhythmic journey continued with an ensemble of Tabla, captivating listeners with the rhythmic complexities of ‘Teentaal’, showcasing the instrument’s global acclaim.

The devotional fervor soared with Saint Annamacharya’s ‘Adigo Alladigo Sri Harivasamu’, transporting the audience to divine realms with its enchanting rendition in Raag Madhyamavati.

The evening reached its crescendo with a Carnatic piece, Thillana, based on Raag Dhanashree, composed by Swati Tirunal. The fast-paced rhythmic patterns and repetitive syllables left the audience spellbound.

As applause filled the room, the performers extended their heartfelt gratitude to the audience, and organizers, for the invaluable opportunity.

On the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day- March 2024’, the Gender Sensitization Cell, SSSIHL  in collaboration with the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences and the Department of Education, SSSIHL, Anantapur Campus organized a program on 7^th March 2024 highlighting the diversified role women play in contemporary society with a special emphasis on the Government initiative ‘Beti Bachao and Beti Padavo’.

Based on the theme ‘’Empowered Women- Empower Women, ” the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences students presented a play entitled “Trikarna Shuddhi – Stree Shakti.”  

The students of the Department of Education presented a thought-provoking role-play themed “A3: Aware, Arise, Act – Change for the Changemakers”, shedding light on the challenges faced by women today.

The day was filled with inspiration and reflection, reaffirming our commitment to gender equality and empowerment.

To equip students with vital skills and insights into contemporary technological advancements and industry demands, the Department of Physics at Anantapur Campus hosted a career guidance workshop centered on data science. Held on March 2nd, 2024, the workshop featured Mrs. M.N. Sai Geetha, a seasoned industry expert with over 25 years of experience as Principal Data Architect at TESCO, Bangalore, as the resource person.

Dr. C. Prathibha, Associate Professor at DPHY, coordinated the event, aiming to empower students with knowledge essential for crafting successful careers in engineering science and analysis.

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of Sri A. Sathya Sai Srikar, a Final-year M.Sc. Mathematics student, who clinched the prestigious ‘First Rank’ in the ‘Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)’ paper at the all-India level.

Additionally, Srikar also secured the remarkable ‘Eighth Rank’ in the ‘Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)‘ paper nationwide.

We congratulate Sathya Sai Srikar for his remarkable performance, which reflects his unwavering dedication, hard work, and passion for the subject.

As part of the “Mera Pehla Vote” 2024 initiative of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a series of events were organized to create voter awareness for first-time voters at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, women’s campus. The 14^th National Voters Day was observed on 25/01/2024.

As per the guidelines of AICTE and UGC a two-week voters campaign was launched between 28/2/2024 and 6/3/2024. All the students participated in events such as debates, quizzes, voters pledge, blog posts, and rallies. The event concluded successfully on 14/3/2024.

“Mera Pehla Vote” 2024 – Blogs & Quiz on mygov.in

As a part of the nationwide campaign to motivate first-time voters to participate in the electoral process and create voter awareness, the students enthusiastically participated in the mygov.in activities. A total of 500 students participated in the pledge ceremony conducted during the assembly.  All the student participants received digital certificates. Several of the students achieved Enthusiast Level 1 in the Quiz on Indian Democracy. The students proactively published their blog posts on mygov.in. The bloggers received appreciation and earned 100 points.  It was a momentous week. Student participation was eventful and rewarding. Each of the students received digital certificates of appreciation and good scores.

As a part of the 2-week 28/2/2024-6/3/2024 long Campaign to create awareness among the students, especially the first-time voters an awareness activity was conducted on 4^th March 2024. All the students from all faculties of commerce, science, and arts participated in quizzes and voter’s pledges in 2024. A total number of 100 students participated in this event.

On 5^th March 2024, students and staff from all faculties participated in this event enthusiastically to assert and pledge their first vote in 2024 during the Assembly session. A total number of 500 students participated in this event. The importance of the campaign and the role of first-time voters was disseminated by Ms. Astha Karikdoli Darjee, IIBA.

The student administered the pledge to all the students and staff in the college auditorium of the Women’s Wing, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus.

Debates & Discussions:

As a part of the campaign to motivate first-time voters to participate in the electoral and democratic process of our nation the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Women’s Wing, Anantapur Campus have conducted a debate and discussion on the theme “The Role of Indian Youth in shaping Indian Democracy”. The students enthusiastically participated in the debate highlighting the need for responsive and responsible youth in building the nation. Mera Pehla Vote Desh ke Liye 2024 is the first step in this process.
